Of Weird Dreams and Plasma TVs
I had an extremely weird dream last night. I was in the dream together with hubby and 2 friends (a couple). And my dad was in it too! And my dad was cooking his specialty - "Kon Lou Har Zhi Meen". Some sort of noodles lar.

My dad fried loads of garlic and shallots. Then he cooked the noodles, drained them and mmix them up with the garlic, shallots, dark soya sauce and some other spices. On top of that, he placed some pig skin and some "char siew" (BBQ roast pork) on top of the noodles. OMG, those noodles were to die for!

Unfortunately for our friends (the couple), the girl doesn't take pork. So she can't eat those delicious noodles at all! Weird dream, isn't it? I had no idea why I dreamt such a dream ler... LOL XD

And during today's lunch, I got news that the 2nd plasma tv up for grabs by Mix.fm has been found in Botanical Gardens. Wahlauweh! All the way to Penang! Too bad Mika Ooi didn't get it :P Oh, and I was probably one the last few people to know that Michael is going to be a daddy soon. *slaps self* Congratulations, Michael! I'm sure you're gonna be a fantastically cool dad!

As Time Goes By~
Ever had a sudden fact going through your mind one fine day, only to realise that it's really happening and it's not some dream you thought it would be? Well, I'm going through such a period now. The feeling is... well... kinda odd :P Odd but at the same time, it leave a warm fuzzy feeling, a feeling which leaves me kinda feeling all mushy all over. Geez, I'm getting soft!

As I look back at myself, at my friends... the journey each of us have gone through so far. Ups and downs of life. Love and sorrow. I'm going to talk about love today. If I'm gonna be a softie might as well go all the way lah! Blek!

When I was a kid, my mum wasn't the best advisor a kid could have when it comes to matters of the heart. I don't blame her of course, I came to understand much later in life that she had gone through some rather painful periods and hence as a mother, had tried to "educate" her kids about love, but I guess her teachings were rather "reserve". I remember her telling us to concentrate on our career and forgo love if we ever had the chance to. It was obvious she had wanted her children to have a stable life, even if it means living alone :P

It wasn't easy for us sisters to grow up having to constantly be bombarded about how men are bad and that we're better off living the single life. HAHA! But that's what we went through anyway. Maybe that's why we have sarcastic traits in us :PpPpP It wasn't easy watching your friends pairing off one by one. You start to feel if there's something wrong with you. Negativity starts to build within you, and before you know, it consumes you. No wonder my lecturer called me a cynic :P Eheheheheheh!!!

When I started my web design job with a company in Phileo Damansara, that's where I first met my hubby. Yes, we were colleagues. No, it wasn't love at first sight. We just clicked :) There was no love between us at that time. Courtship was rather fast, and we decided to give each other a chance. I think we owe it to each other, to give the relationship and ourselves a chance :) And it was that chance that brought us together today.

And you know what's really ironic? My mum used to say if we're going to have boyfriends, look for one that's living in KL so that we don't have to make the travel back each year. And look what my sis and I found: One from Sabah, one from Kedah! And... my sis and I used to poke fun at wedding banquest held in school halls. Guess what... My father in-law almost booked a school hall for the wedding in Sg Petani! OMG!!! Luckily FIL (that's father in-law for you singles out there) decided to go for a typical chinese restaurant instead! Heck, strike lottery also not so accurate leh! A big BIG sigh of relief from Oli ~~~~

Looking back, I can't help but smile at the many stages of life I've gone through. It's funny, but it's those stages that have developed my mind, character and personality. And when I look in front, I see a long road filled with many adventures and unknown possibilities. I used to walk the road alone, but I no longer have to do so. I had often wished I have met my life partner earlier in life, but then maybe it's fate that he came into my life much later. Because had he appeared earlier, I may not have appreciated him as much as I do now.

Men And Legs
You know some men have hairy legs, some extra hairy, some with little hair here and there and some with smooth smooth skin like a baby's buttocks. Well, this is a question for the girls.

Do you prefer men with:

1) Acceptable hairy legs (not too much, not too little)
2) Extra super hairy (think King Kong)
3) Super smooth legs, even mosquitoes cannot land on it.

My personal preference? Acceptable hairy legs I guess. I mean, I certainly don't want to walk around with some guy who's legs resemble an ape, right? That's like walking around with a Neanderthal :P And guys with no leg hair? Ewww! That's like... soooOOOooo gay. How can guys have no leg hair, you tell me. At least have some hair you know. Men's legs have a certain structure, so their legs are unlike a woman's (smooth and slender). So imagine a well-toned man, physic and all semua ada, tapi leg hair tadak! "-_-

Actually, I wonder if men shave? Do you guys shave? I've heard that some men shave their underarms. Girls I can understand, but why do men shave their underarms? Also, if our primate ancestors used to have hair all over the place (they didn't seem to have problems attracting their mates then, even with all the hair on them!), when did we start shaving everything off? When did the term "hairless = beauty" for women come from? Who came up with the idea? Westerners I presume? Some doink came up with a product that can help remove body hair, so he had to come up with a marketing campaign to sell his product and make himself a bus load of cash, right?

And then, the idea that a woman's body must be squeeky clean (hairless) in order to achieve to ultimate beauty title started to spread across the globe and more hair removal products are being produced. Then Brazilian wax caught the trend and BAM! Pain = beauty!. And there's electrolysis too. Then come cheaper hair removal alternatives like cream and mousse and wax strips.

It's a Thursday... I'm waiting for the weekend to come :P Excuse my sot-sot-ness...

Watergun Mania
Lately I've been swimming with hubby and a few of our neighbours. Well... not really swimming... more like jumping into the pool and ambushing each other with our waterguns :P

"Wahliao! So big still play with waterguns meh?!?"

.... CANNOT AH! *squirts water in your face*

Image hosting by Photobucket

You see, it all started with one guy who went and got himself a couple of waterguns. Then, the rest of the guys also itchy backside and wanted waterguns too. So one by one they each got themselves a watergun. Then the first guy that got the watergun fever started got himself another even bigger watergun o.O Kiasu!

Let me tell you, when a group of friends all jump into the pool and start shooting each other, it's helluva fun :P And the best part is shooting at people who're on dry land *HAHA*. Of course we don't simply ambush people lar, nanti kena kantoi not good mar. We shoot the neighbours we know can take a joke or two.

When we get into the pool with our waterguns, you can see the faces on the children who're also in the pool. Oh how they wished to OWN one of those babies!!! Wuakakakkakaak!!!

By the way, hubby has a double barrel watergun :P And there was once we got ambushed just coming out of the lift! Ahaks!

Guess What Sucks...?
For obvious reasons, IE (Internet Explorer if you don't know what the full name is) should be totally removed from Windows. Why? Because it sucks to the core!

Goddamn browser. Makes my blood boil. It's no wonder so many people have made the switch to Firefox and never looked back. I have half a mind to tell my clients to make that switch too. Make the switch people, be cool, stay with the pack, yadda yadda yadda. You still use IE meh? Jialat lor...

The only reason I'm keeping IE around is due to work. Previewing websites in IE... because some people (read: clients) still use IE to surf the internet. IE's the only browser they grew up with, IE's all there is. Damn you Bill Gates! Goddamn you!

Ok, enough rants for the day. Time to go home and chill~

Toodles!

Red Eyes
My eyes, especially my left eye is a little red :P I wore my contact lens during the weekend, the longest I've ever worn since collecting them. Wore them the whole day (except when I went to bed), eyes adapting well to them. I guess it's because I've never really tried wearing them for such long hours, hence the eyes got a bit tired and a little red.

The redness is reducing now (didn't wear them to work today), so my eyes got the day off. Hehe...

I am also aware of the news that's been going around the contact lens world, something about a certain well known brand of solutions which could be the cause behind several eye infections, hence it's now banned from a few countries. I've also checked with my optician and several other contact lens users. Of course I'm concern, I'm a new user after all. But I'm not using that particular brand of solution (just their lens, not solution), and I'm hygenic :P Never the less, always practise safety ler, especially with your eyes.

Jabbing My Eyeballs O.o
I recently got myself fitted with contact lenses. A brave move coming from me. Why? Cos for many years I've had this phobia of jabbing my eyes with something foreign :P I think my sister has been trying to convince for the switch the contact lenses for many years, but my stubborn streak prevailed... until now.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Why the sudden switch? Well... power's gone up (KNNCCB!!! #$^&%(*@). Been staring at the monitor too much *ahem*. I'm one of the unlucky ones with bad eyes, power hasn't really stabilised yet. On top of that my astigmatism is high *double sigh*. Another reason which prompted me to switch was the fact my wedding is coming up. Ya ya ya, I'm being the vain pot here now. Cannot ah? Sue me lah! Blek!

I switched to contact lenses mainly I hope that with the lenses, my power won't shoot up so much and stabilise it a bit. Each time I make new spectacles, it would cost me a bomb cos I normally go for thin lenses (brands like Pentax or Hoya). A lot of times the new lenses cost 2 to 3 times of the new spec frames *ouch*. Also a lot of people have commented that I look better if I don't hide behind the frames. So, after much consideration, I went for it.

The first try to get the lens into my eyes was agonizing. Phobia lor, what else. I actually went to the optician to collect my new lens and she taught me the method and bla bla bla. She tried to help me put the lens into my right eye first, but I kept blinking and was so darn scared. Hello, you're putting something foreign in my eye ok! In the end I lost my patience and took the trial pair home to try putting it on by myself. Took me a couple of days to pluck the courage to try jabbing my eye again (I like to say I'm jabbing my eye. Ahaks!). Wasn't successful, but at least I could get the lens much closer to my eye. The following day, it took me a good 30 minutes to get the right lens in, and another 5 minutes to get it out. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Each time I try putting my lens on, I get faster and more accurate. Like they say, practise makes perfect. I can't say I'm damn good at it now, but at least I can get it to slide in properly. I also found out that my right eyeball is slightly bigger than my left eyeball O.o (you're gonna see this O.o a lot more next time). Because of the different in size, sometimes my right eye feels weird, as though I can feel the lens. Also, I've been advised to put eye drops into my right eye every now and then to keep it moist... Seems my right eye also produces less tears. My left eye is adapting fine, it's my right eye... once a while... hehe...

At the moment I don't wear my contact lenses the whole day. Usually at night I'll switch to my specs, to give my eyes a rest. I also don't drive wearing my contact lenses yet as my eyes is still adjusting to the new feeling & new power. Dey, one week only lar, give chance sikit :P

With contact lenses, yes it's a new found freedom. I can try clothes on without removing my glasses. I can see what people are doing to my hair during a haircut. I can wear bigger/longer earrings and not look like a christmas tree. I've been hiding behind frames for many years... so maybe it's time to try something new :)

I want to thank my sis, her fiance and Kenny for all their support and advices on contact lenses. *muacks*
