Bali was fantastic. It's my 2nd trip to Bali since 2001 and I guess Bali has changed quite a bit. There are still many angmohs around, but the pubs and bars are not as crowded as I remembered them to be. Plus there seem to be more stuff to buy now from Bali! LOL

Our flight to Bali with Airasia was delayed some 3hours due to "technical problems". Aaaiii... budget travelling... liddat ge-laarrr. Airport oso sibeh "beh" only. Subang Airport was way better than LCC-T (serious!). At least we received the SMS from AirAsia before we left to go to the terminal, otherwise damn jialat wait in the airport. While waiting to board, the AirAsia crew distributed mineral water & 2 buns per passanger since our flight to Bali was at 1355 hours and would take 3 hours to reach. While flying to Bali, the cabin crew even played games with us passangers (suprise suprise!) and even distributed free t-shirts during the game.

The hotel my friend booked was nice. Loved the wooden doors. Somehow balinese design has a mixture of chinese elements in it (hmm...). Shopping was a blast in Bali! To tell you the truth, if we had a container, we would ship the whole container back to Malaysia with Balinese furnitures, deco, stone statues and whatever we can get our hands on! Everything is so lovely in Bali! The art, the wood carvings, the deco, the statues, everything! Probably will kena tax kau-kau by customs department though... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

And the babi guling! OMFG! That meat! The succulent skin! The taste as you sink your teeth into the crispy part of the babi guling. AAAHHH~~~~ Ignites every senses in your body. I took my first bite on the crispy skin... and heck! I couldn't care less what happened after that bite! Heaven~~~~ Ooooohhh, how I miss the babi guling now~~~~~ *drool* *salivate*

This trip to Bali is kinda like our honeymoon as well, albeit a little different as we went with a few friends. Honeymoon with friends, you say?!? Well, we planned for the trip way before we even started planning fo our wedding mar. Anyway, it was great going with friends. At least we have photos with the both of us inside it! XD Plus it was so much fun being with friends that can click with each other! Bali's also one place the men enjoyed thoroughly! For once they did not complain about going shopping! In fact, they were RARING TO SHOP! O.O Had it not been for the flight delay, we could've tried Balinese spa as well, but at last that was not meant to be.

Maybe the next trip to bali we can consider sight seeing, but this trip was mainly a shopping trip. I'll skip places like Jimbaran though (expensive place, only thing nice is the ambience) and Monkey Forest (Malaysia oso got monkeys bah). I'll skip all those celuk and batik factories as well, typical tourist con places *kekekekeke*. Maybe make a trip down to Sanur or Nusa Dua, see all the nice expensive resorts and such.

Preparations & Excitement
The date is drawing near! Feel the excitement! The happiness! The joys and fun fun fun! :D

Our KL reception is just around the corner. And I'm pretty we've just about covered everything that needs to be covered. We're taking it cool of course. We're tremendously excited as well (you'll be a real bozo to NOT be excited!). Everything is quite in place, and we're happy and satisfied. There's no right or wrong to doing things, we're just going with the flow. And having fun along the way of course ;)

Hubby said I seem to be more 'loving' as compared to before all the wedding. "Ark?!?" dazed and bewildered look. "Aren't I always loving to you?!?" *gives puzzled look*

You know what they say... men normally takes a little longer for the reality to sink in & digest. Maybe in hubby's case, his excitement and happiness is somewhat.... delayed a little? HAHHAAHHAHA!!! :PpPpPpP

Ahh~~~

Are You In Danger?
The fact that thousands of Malaysians out there are living in precariously dangerous places brings a very chilling thought down my skinny spine.

It's scary: Thousands of Malaysians are living in blissful ignorance in danger zones. Not only do their houses stand on weak soil, making the areas landslide-prone, intense construction activities and rain are aggravating the situation.

Read about it here

My question is.... if the land houses are being built on are so so very dangerous and unstable, why are there still sooOOOooo many housing development on such land? How do such projects get approved? Very very contradicting reports, ain't it? So now you're telling the many thousands who have bought their homes on such land that their houses may collapse any day now and that their lives are in danger? On top of that, new projects are approved on such land? WTF!

Very typical Malaysian way of dealing with things, aint it? Wait until trouble starts popping up, then only take some action and do some talking. Our gomen will neva learn...

Sg Petani Wedding Reception
To view some photos of the reception, click here (Firefox recommended to view site).
1) Woke up bright and early for a quick breakfast. Then headed to the makeup artist's salon to be beautified. Hair went through major shock man... curling iron, hair spray semua...

2) Chut-Moon: From Park Avenue Hotel. Sisters asked for money straight away :P Parents were laughing at the sight of a bunch of grown men paying my sisters & BIL off just to get throught the door. Groom was made to drink some concoction of coffee mixed with coffee mate & orange juice (last minute stuff BIL made), gave angpow (my sister's exact words: You are only worth that much?!?). Handsome groom enters room, kisses the lovely bride, exchange rings bla bla. Tea ceremony for my parents in the hotel room. And off we go to the groom's house!

3) Tea ceremony: Lotsa people waiting in the house for our arrival. Paid our respect to the ancestors and gods. Tea ceremony for all the relatives. Everyone was so happy to drink the tea, especially his father (waited so many years to drink the tea mar XD). Long list of relatives, each taking their turn to sit and drink the tea. I got confused with all the pangkats among relatives and everyone had a good laugh. After that, came our turn to give out the angpows to the younger generation of relatives (a pre-requisite was made that they had to introduce themselves then only can they get angpows from me *HAHA*).

4) Dinner: Went back to makeup artist in the evening. Another round of shock for my hair XD Came back, slipped into my yellow qipao and went to the restaurant. It was more of my FIL's dinner, and boy was he happy :P I think I barely knew 10% of the crowd that attended. Never the less, the dinner was a blast. Typical chinese wedding dinner, bride & groom make an entrance (we almost took a shortcut! Didn't know mar...), sit at main table, treated like VIPs (very important people, not very idiotic peple ok!). Halfway through the meal, walk up to the stage to pour the sparkling juice, minum-minum, yam seng with the crowd, go back to the table. FIL was going around yam seng-ing with his friends and relatives. He had fun, and I'm glad he was happy too :)

5) Balik rumah, took a long time to remove all the makeup and hair pins (Geez!). Hubby was damn high from all the speed drinking. Puked a few times before he finally collapsed and snored into dreamland. Summore say wanna help me remove all the hairpins tim! LOL!!! Had a long shower, cleaned my hair and face properly. Was the last person to get into bed. *snore*

Was a good wedding. I had fun. We had fun. Good experience. Thanks to my friends and their advices on how to stay cool during the big day. All your advices helped! Thank you all! *muacks* Now to prepare for the KL reception! :D

Hiatus
I will be away for a few days next week. I'm getting married!!! XD

The northern reception is next week, hence I'm going up north for a few days. Basically hubby & I are "attending" the wedding reception in his hometown cos... we didn't get involved in the preparations *hehe*. His dad handled everything (that's why I said it's FIL's wedding :P).

Good also, don't get our hands involved. We just have to handle the KL reception, and do things our way. Woohoo!
