Caterpillar & My Curry Leaf Plant
Hubby and I have been trying to grow our very own curry leaf plant. Actually we got the plant a couple of months back from FIL back in Kedah. When we collected it, it was kinda scrawny with a few twigs and leaves XD

The plant as grown since, with  a few new branches sprouting out from time to time (whee!). It's quite exciting to the new shoots coming out from the top :D And the new shoots really grow fast! And I kinda figured out the trick to watering the plant... since curry leaf plants can't take too much water (that's the info I got from the net lah).

We're still amateurs when it comes to plants, hehe. Because during the first couple of weeks, we noticed the plant didn't grow nor did any new shoots come out. After some research, I found out that these plants don't really like damp soil (we've been watering it daily macam typical gardening style, haha!). So we stopped watering it for a week to see the progress and wa-lah! New shoots!

Just last week, hubby was checking out the 2nd phase of new shoots and found some of the leaves had little holes in them! KNNCCB! At first I thought the plant had spider mites (because I read curry leaf plants are susceptible to spider mites) and was like "OMG! Our poor plant gonna die!" And then hor, hubby found one tiny black caterpillar... crawling on one of the twigs!!!

KNNCCBMCHPUNDEKTHISSTUPIDIDIOTICCATERPILLAR!!!

@#%&* caterpillar! Hubby caught it and placed it on the floor. "Light a match and burn it!" I said. "PIIIIAAAKKKK!" Hubby flattened it with a slipper, spilling the guts and shit out from the culprit XD Thus the baddie died a horrible flat death. Muahahaha!

All is well :D

Weight Gain?
I recently bumped into an ex-colleague of mine, who probably hasn't seen me since last 2006's CNY dinner with my ex-colleagues XD.

He could recognise me despite the appearance change (you know, I'm wearing contacts now, plus I permed and highlighted my hair about 6 months ago...and he kept saying he couldn't recognise me!).

Anyway, he also said I looked fatter now. F-A-T-T-E-R. @_@ Meatier compared to last time when I was stick-thin.

So I said I've been taking yoga for the past few months, and then he said "Yoga can make you fat meh?"

"No, but yoga can tone your muscles! Besides, my weight gain according to the scale is very little!"

"Scales don't tell you the whole truth!" he exclaimed.

O.O .... >.<

No, I'm not F-A-T-T-E-R. But I am "more toned" compared to a last year XP

He Says, She Says
I caught Mix.fm's morning topic for a while yesterday morning, and the topic was on gender equality and whether or not it exist. I heard several callers (guys) that gave their honest opinion about the topic. I guess most guys believe that there is no gender equality. And I guess most females would disagree...

One guy said that there can only be one captain on a ship. Another said that women are always fighting to be equal but when it comes to problems, they expect a man to handle it. LOLOLOL!!!! XD All I can say... if they made those statements in a crowd full of women, the women will give them a good beating :P

Gender equality does not exist, that's my take on the topic. Seriously, gender equality? ROTFLOL!!! Men and women were not made to be equal in the first place. So why fight for gender equality? Some of you girls may not agree, but think about this. When people talk about gender equality, what comes to your mind? Anything a man can do, so can a woman? If a man can walk about with his shirt, so can a woman?

Sometimes I don't know why the women's group make such a huge fuss over equality. Burning bras to make their statement. What are they really fighting for? What are they thinking of when they fight for equality? If men and women were made to be equal, there wouldn't be any gender differences. The Gods should've only created ONE gender, one type of homosapien. That way, we wouldn't have all these "equality" statements today, right? Because everyone would be the same, everyone would be truly equal.

But that is not the case. We have men and we have women. Both men and women exist for different reasons. We're here to compliment each other. Now for men/women to think they are superior is a wrong perception, because no one really is better than the other. How do you define who's better and who's not? Such a subjective matter hor? There is no superiority between men and women simply because we exist for different reasons!

The term "superiority" exist because some quarters believe they are above all else. Hence there exist gender segregation and sexual harassment's. It's a very pathetic thought because no one is superior. Frankly speaking, if you think you're really superior, you wouldn't be born a human, hor?

Men should be taught to respect women. Women are not to be bullied. Men should not see women as some form of object to fulfill their lust and blahs. Men should not see women as the weaker sex.

Women, instead of fighting for equality, should be fighting for equal rights. The right to a proper education, to right to be treated fairly in the workplace, the right to be safe when walking on the streets, the right to receive medical attention when the need arises... Stop fighting to be equal. Fight for equal rights!

Equality and Equal Rights... Can you tell the difference? :)

The Price of Looking Good
I was reading this article in NST recently : Buying beauty: The cost of looking good -- RM1.2b

It was reported that Malaysian women start using cosmetics at the age of 14, and will continue to do so until they hit their 70s. And all the splurging will rake in a whopping RM 1.2b annually. Wow, that's quite a lot of ka-ching, hor? I'm sure the beauty industry are really happy about this report :D

Then there was another article about 3 women who won't be caught dead without make-up. All 3 uses cosmetics for different reasons: to look good, to boost confidence, to look sexy, to look younger etc.

It's only natural for any women to want to look good. Although a 14 year old with black eyeliner and dark red lipstick is kinda freaky... Heh! In some ways, cosmetics offer women a chance to "feel" better about themselves, at the point of being superficial sometimes. Cosmetics can make you look better... If only you know how to use them correctly. Splattering 6 eyeshadow colours on your eyelids and 10 coats of mascara won't make you look like Catherine Zeta Jones, girl. You gotta know what colours to use and what colours match your skin tone.

I've seen some horrendous makeup disasters before... Bright yellow eyeshadows matched with red lipstick. Or some women forgetting to apply foundation on their necks, hence a really contrasting face & neck. I bet you've seen some makeup disasters too, right?

And have you noticed some women will never be caught dead without makeup? They just have to plaster their face before stepping out of their houses. I've heard stories that if a woman is always with makeup, she will forever require makeup because the public can't accept her natural face XD

My beautician also told me, some women have darker eyelids because they've been using too much cosmetics (and possibly the not so good quality type). And because of the difference in pigmentation, these women have to reply on cosmetics to hide the flaws.

Aiiii... the price of looking good....

I use makeup too, but not everyday lah. At most, my weekday routine is a layer of foundation, eyebrow pencil and mascara. Some days I even go bare. The skin's gotta breathe you know ;)
